Except for the trip part of course! As 2020 comes to a close, most of us are looking back at the plans we made in January and the things we were looking forward to, and can not believe what happened around April and how poorly this year is ending. I guess this coming year is like Spring training for your favorite baseball team. “This could be the year!” No one is eliminated from the playoffs before the season starts, right?
Our hopes are of course, that there will be an effective vaccine, available to everyone, and we can resume being with family and friends and taking that trip we cancelled last year. We look forward to resuming life under the new normal whatever that means. (even wearing a mask and socially distancing) For us that means taking the trip out West and seeing SD, ND, WY, MT, UT, NV, AZ, and the bucket list item of the Balloon Fiesta in Albuquerque. It was cancelled in 2020 but being an optimist, we made reservations for 2021.
The other question besides IF is WHEN? We made our first reservation for mid July in South Dakota. That leaves the question of if we can go, what comes before that reservation. The hope was starting this late, things would be safe by then. Last year we planned to head across the panhandle, up thru MS, AR, MO, etc., but maybe this year we can head up the East Coast and visit family in NJ, DE, and PA, then head West? Only time will tell if “This could be the year!”
I am looking forward too to creating a new page for this site, Postcards From The Road 2021. Now if only we have lot’s of entries . . .
