We all could not wait for 2020 to be over and we turn the page to 2021. But of course, “things” just don’t change because the calendar has. It’s already February and this is the first post of the new year. We are still parked at Creekside RV Resort in Punta Gorda and the Winter season is in full swing. The clubhouse is bursting with activity full of people who choose not to wear a mask and did travel this past Summer. We remain committed to our plan of sheltering in place until after we receive our COVID shots plus three weeks. That’s the only good news! Since we are both over sixty five, we have received both the first and second shots!!
I am not complaining. We are both healthy and sheltering in a beautiful resort. We live in a beautiful motor home. The lake is twenty feet away from our dashboard. The walk from the bedroom to the kitchen is now much shorter than when we lived in a 2,400 square foot house, and we really don’t need bedroom two or three. We don’t miss all our “stuff.” Well, to be honest, Kathryn does miss her kitchen and the recipes she used to create and I did enjoy going to the garage and dragging out the tools for the next project. But, the reason we sold everything and bought our coach is to go discover America. So, the possibility of not being able to travel again for a second straight Summer is daunting. We have however booked (or rebooked in some cases) reservations for this Summer and are just waiting and waiting for it to be time to go! I’ve researched everything you would want to see and do once we arrive in an area, so now it is just wait and hope to get there.
We can never know about the days to come But we think about them anyway And I wonder if I’m really with you now Or just chasing after some finer day. Anticipation, anticipation is making me late.
I guess there is no choice really. All we have is to anticipate and to look forward to this Summer and the dream trip of a lifetime. The Badlands, Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone, Moab, Flagstaff, Sedona, Route 66, Albuquerque Balloon Festival and all that falls in between. The anticipation IS making me wait, I mean late!
