It's not about the destination, it's all about the journey!
These are the original four designs we started with before we left Venice.
Now here is crazy idea! If you are unable to head off for your own travel adventure, there is a way to have fun without ever leaving your town, county, or state. A painted rock! Wait, what? If you find one of the painted rocks we have placed at random, the idea is for you to take it to someplace else. And if you really want to go all in, why not start a new hobby and paint some rocks yourself? Make a creative design or put a message on the bottom. Be sure to leave some kind of “contact message” so people know how to let you know they found it and where they moved it to. If you don’t here from anyone (like us) just know it’s out there somewhere hope it put a smile on someone’s face when it was discovered.
If you want to participate, send an e-mail to email@example.com, tell us which rock design you found, and to where you moved it. We hope to hear from you!
We left The Mountain Moon Rock in the Polk County Florida Rest Area on I-4 Eastbound. Let us know if you found it, firstname.lastname@example.org and where you took it.
We left The Three Flowers Rock in the Lake Whippoorwill KOA, Orlando, Florida. Let us know if you found it, email@example.com and where you took it.
We left The Red Design Rock in the St. Augustine Beach KOA, St. Augustine, Florida. Let us know if you found it, firstname.lastname@example.org and where you took it.
We left The Heading Out Rock on the top of Mountain Marquette, West facing side. Let us know if you found it, email@example.com and where you put it.
We left The Waterfall Rock at the trailhead of The Mount Willard trail, Crawford Notch, New Hampshire. Let us know if you found it firstname.lastname@example.org and where you put it.
We left The Love Rock at the entrance to the tunnel, as you exit the Glen Ellis Falls trail. Let us know if you found it, email@example.com and where you put it.
We left the Woof Rock in the dog park at the KOA Whippoorwill Orlando, Florida, and it was found! For the first time ever, we received an e-mail that one of our painted rocks had been found. We’ll let you know where it was moved to once we know. WHAT A DIFFERENCE A YEAR MAKES. THIS CAMPGROUND HAS BEEN CLOSED AND IS BEING REPLACED BY CONDOS
Since we are sheltering in place in Punta Gorda Florida, we are unable to travel and leave a rock on the road during our next trip. Since we have no idea when that would be, we decided to leave the rock “New Home” at the Reception Office right here! Should you find it, drop us an e-mail: firstname.lastname@example.org
Here are the new designs yet to be placed: Cherry Tree, Mountain Cave, Take Me, Hot Dog, Mountain Top, Snowy Day, White Birches, and Campground. We will be leaving these along the way once we get to travel again.
